Publisher and contact
StreamBull is developed and published by Adriaan Debeuckelaere, an individual developer based in Torhout, Belgium, using the name ADB Code. ADB Code is not presented here as a registered company. For privacy questions, email adriaan@adb-code.be.
Information stored on your device
StreamBull stores provider and playlist configuration, including URLs, playlist names, optional EPG URLs and the credentials you enter for an Xtream provider. It also keeps the catalogue and guide data supplied by those sources, local profile names, language preferences, favourites, watch history and playback positions.
Provider configuration is encrypted before storage using an Android Keystore key. The catalogue and viewing information are kept in the app’s private device storage. The two profiles are local profiles; StreamBull does not provide its own online profile or library synchronisation service.
Requests to your chosen provider
Your device connects directly to the playlist, provider, media, guide and artwork hosts configured by you or referenced by your provider. Requests can include provider credentials, catalogue queries and the media you choose to play. Those hosts receive ordinary network information, including your IP address and request metadata.
The publisher does not receive a copy of your playlist, provider password or viewing history through a StreamBull backend. Your provider’s own privacy practices apply to its processing.
External subtitles, where available
If external subtitle fallback is configured and available in your installed version, StreamBull can search SubDL for existing English subtitles when suitable provider tracks are unavailable. The search can include a movie or series title, year, media identifiers, season and episode number. SubDL and its download hosts receive those requests and ordinary network information such as your IP address.
Downloaded subtitle files are cached on your device. The source includes age and size limits for this cache. External subtitle availability and matching are not guaranteed. Provider and embedded tracks remain the first source for subtitles.
Google Play, where purchases are offered
In a version that offers a subscription, StreamBull uses Google Play to retrieve purchase options, start purchases, check purchase state and acknowledge purchases. The paid app source verifies purchase signatures on the device; it does not send purchase tokens to a StreamBull server. Google processes payment information under its own terms. The publisher does not receive your card details.
The local sideload version does not include billing. Purchase behaviour depends on the version distributed through Google Play.
Network choices
Use HTTPS sources where your provider supports them. The app requires an explicit warning acknowledgement before allowing an unencrypted HTTP provider. HTTP traffic can expose credentials and media requests to others on the network.
A separate provider setting can relax certificate validation for artwork images. This is an optional compatibility setting for images; it does not make an untrusted source trustworthy.
Backup, retention and deletion
Android app backup is enabled. Provider configuration, including its credentials, is excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Other eligible app data may be backed up or transferred according to your device and system settings.
You can remove saved playlists through Settings or remove local app data through Android. Uninstalling removes device data, subject to any system backups you keep. Removing local data does not erase records held independently by a media provider or Google. Subtitle cache files are temporary and can be removed by the app or the operating system.
Diagnostics and support messages
The inspected free and paid app source does not integrate an advertising, analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDK. The app uses local diagnostic logging for playback, catalogue and subtitle errors. This is not a claim that Google Play or a device manufacturer never collects its own diagnostics.
If you contact the publisher, your email address and the information you send are processed to answer your request. Do not include provider credentials or private media URLs. Support correspondence is separate from the data kept by the app on your device.
Purposes and legal bases
On-device information and provider requests support the player features you choose: setup, browsing, playback, preferences and local history. Where the publisher processes personal data to provide a requested service or respond to your request, the applicable basis can be performance of a contract or legitimate interests in providing support and keeping the service secure. Providers and Google determine the legal bases for their own processing.
Your privacy rights
Where the GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing where applicable. These rights depend on the circumstances and the legal basis for the processing. Contact adriaan@adb-code.be to make a request.
You may complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority or the supervisory authority where you live. Data held independently by Google, your media provider or another service is also subject to that service’s own privacy policy.
Details to confirm before public release
TODO before the public Google Play release: confirm which app build will be distributed, its purchase options and whether SubDL fallback is enabled. Update this policy if the released build adds advertising, analytics, remote diagnostics or other data services.
TODO: confirm the external subtitle provider’s processing, retention and international-transfer arrangements, and the retention period for support correspondence. These operational details cannot be established from the application source alone.
Changes to this policy
This policy is maintained with the app. Its review date is shown on this page. Material changes to processing will require an updated policy before the affected release.
